I want to have two instances of Outlook open at the same time, but
monitoring different POP3 accounts. I have Outlook 2002. If I have one
mailbox open, if I try to open another instance it defaults to the same
profile thats open without giving me a chance to choose another profile.

I'm sure I did this with an older version of Outlook. Is it possible, if so
how?

Your memory may be failing. Outlook has never permitted running two
different profiles at once.

for a minute I thought you meant that in a technical sense...:) thanks for
the quick reply.

Ok if I can't have two instances open, how can I get Outlook to get mail
from both mailboxes which are open in my main account. I've got the mailbox
open for my second account, but I have to exit Profile A and start up
profile B to get the mail to download from the pop server. Is there a way i
can download from both POP mail accounts at once into their respective
Inboxes?

I'm not sure if I really understand your question.... but you can set up
multiple email accounts in outlook and have them all checked when you do a
send receive, or select the one you want to get mail from...

you can only have one exchange account, but you can set up multiple POP3
accounts. just go to tools/email accounts and add your second account - you
can then add a rule that filters all mail to each account to separate
folders..

you can have multiple email addresses in exchange by having those addresses
added to your email addresses in active directory... I don't know if this
requires an exchange admin or if a user can do it... I have only done it as
the exchange admin

good luck

No, that lauches a separate Outlook *window* -- using the same profile.

You can add two POP accounts to one profile and use Rules Wizard rules to
sort them into different folders.
