2 operating systems at once?

PLEASE tell me how to merge two systems. I installed windows XP home edition
on a computer that had 98 in it...now when you start the computer it asks
which system I want...All I wanted was to upgrade but it did not work...how
do I switch all my info into the XP version andget rid of 98?

You'll have to start all over again with a clean install of XP to get rid of
98.
