Is it possible to have 2 networks in the same location using 1 nic xp pro sp2
with static ip, subnet, dns and gateway?
Network 1
ip 10.10.10.100
subnet 255.255.255.0
gateway 10.10.10.1
dns 10.10.10.1

Network 2
ip 192.168.1.100
subnet 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.1.1
dns 192.168.1.1
I need to be able to access data on both networks. Do I need 2 nics in my pc?

Thanks

This is called multi-homing.

You can multi-home an XP box in 2 ways:
Physically multi-home: network cards, or
Logically multi-home: assign 2 IP addresses on the same NIC.

Rather depends on whether the IP subnets you want to connect to are on the
same physical LAN segment, or on 2 seperate LAN segmants.

However, either way, there are issues.
1) Default Gateway. Only 1 will be used. ( the one with the lowest metric )
2) DNS: There is an order in which DNS servers are queried:

Best of luck.
