Windows Mail does not support identities. Microsoft expects you to
create a user account for each user in Vista, and use a separate
Windows Mail setup in each account.

The results depend on whether you have two separate accounts at
the email server. If you do, each user should get their own mail.
However, many email providers tend to give you an alias account
for all but the main user, and then whoever downloads mail first
gets mail for all the users and usually deletes it from the email
server.

Windows Mail won't work with Hotmail. However, you can download
and install Windows Live Mail, which will:

Gmail takes a little extra effort:

Outlook Express won't run under Vista.

Outlook will, preferably version 2003 or more recent, although
version 2002 will run with a few problems.

hey loyd i think u would be better off setting up an account with some other
email provider as i have the same problem, i think it is a bit of a joke that
there are so many things that u have to do to set up an account for email, im
mean cmon it shouldnt require a degree in computer science to do this,
microsoft really dropped the ball on this one.

You can say that again. This Web Mail is a JOKE!!!
Who every heard of a system that dont let a man and his wife have a mail ACC
with out pulling up each other mail.
I will use TX.RR.COM and and X out Web Mail.
Think you all for telling me how dumb web mail is. I had just about found it
out after 30 days of trying!!

OH by the way does know how I could send Bill Gates mail??

You might want to check with your email provider about whether your email
address is an alias for your wife's email address. If so, it doesn't matter
what
email program program you use or if you use webmail instead - whoever
checks mail first will get all the mail sent to either of you.

Bill Gates keeps his email address a secret, if he even has an email address
where he reads what comes in.

This is about another problem, but first time here and cant find where to
post.
I wanted to know if anybody knows how to set up outlook express so that when
I click on an email, it doesn't open if I want to delete it. I used to be
able to do this, but had my computer tuned, and everything has changed.
thank you, Carol

Web mail is access with a web browser, like Internet Explorer.
If you mean Windows Mail, all accounts do go into one Inbox.
If you don't want that, you can create separate user accounts, and keep your
emails separate.

Windows Live Mail has separate Inboxes for each account, but there's no
privacy.

Or, one of you could use WM, the other could use WLM.... or Thunderbird...

I think the newsgroup you need to use is either of:

microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress

Turn off the Preview Pane from View | Layout.
Or you can add the Preview button to the toolbar to toggle the Preview Pane
on and off.
