2 digit year

I am trying to create a cell in which I subtract one date from another, my
problem lies in that I need the cell to read in yy,mm,dd format with only a
two digit year. I have gone through and unchecked the four-digit year
formatting in the options window but in the yy,dd,mm format the four digit
year still comes up. Is there anyway to fix this and still keep the format.
I am creating this for a military project and they hate to change how their
dates look.

I have tried that as well it defaults to yy\,mm\,dd and then still shows the
four digit year

Is this Excel, cell = Excel; field = Access? Because you need to format the
cell in Excel (right-mouse click, select format and make your selection from
there). And if that doesn't work, try asking in an Excel newsgroup.

In Access did you format the field as Douglas suggested? Not in Windows, in
Access, either on the form or in the table. If you haven't done in the
table prior to doing it on the form then you will have to do it both places.
