2 cards, both on internet, want diff. apps. to use diff. connections

Hi all,

I am in a bind, and the problem is I don't know what to search for
online. I have 2 full internet connections on my laptop. One is a
shared ADSL wired connection, the other is a wireless satelllite
connection. For the purpose of this discussion, please assume both
have the same capabilities (in terms of speed, access to the internet,
etc).

Now, here is what I would like to do: Set it up so that 1 connection
is dedicated to bittorrent sharing (nothing illegal). I want other
applications to use the other connection. That way, I can
theoretically be downloading/uploading from bittorrent at full speed
(on NIC 1) while browsing the net and playing Eve Online (on NIC 2).

Is this possible? I have found the following threads, but they are
all from 2002-2003 and not very helpful. Please note that I have no
reason to want to bind the interfaces, create a bridge, or anything
like that unless it is in support of this goal. I just want to
dedicate certain applications to using 1 connection and other
applications to using the 2nd connection.

I've tried googling for this, but came up with nothing useful. I know
there has to be something like this out there, but I don't know what
to search for.

Here are the threads I found:

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sorry to reply to my own post, but I have some additional information
regarding this "situation":

1. Neither card is connecting to a sensitive resource (intranet,
classified information, etc.), so that is not an issue.

2. Upon further research and some light bulbs sparking in my head, I
think that one solution to this problem might be using a software
firewall with multiple network adapter support. That way, I could
just configure the firewall to direct traffic to the appropriate
adapter based on its originating software. What do you guys think?

Thanks.
