2 bootable partitions on same HD?

Can there be more than one bootable partition on a physical
hard drive?

If so, can one bootable partition be cloned to another partition
to give two bootable partitions on the same HD?

With PM, you can have umpteen bootable partitions; all but one will be
hidden. Never tried the clone trick -- just pull out your Ghost & clone
away, and let us know how it turns out.

If you mark two partitions active, the MBR boot code halts with "Invalid
Partition Table".

Any boot manager will allow other partitions to be bootable, usually by
changing the active one.

Yep, thats supported by any decent boot manager.

Yep. Tho you want to be careful with the NT/2K/XP family,
it can get seriously confused if both are visible at boot time.
One way around that that any decent boot manager can
handle is to hide the one that isnt being booted from.
