1st time send fails

running outlook 2003 on win xp pro. this just started happening- for no
apparent rhyme or reason. whenever I initially try to send an email, it
fails. On the second attempt, it always goes through. Is there a statrup
switch or something to fix this?

Is there an error message? If so, what is the exact text?

No error, it just sits there saying "sending message 1 of 1", and will sit
there indefitely, until I cancel it and start the send again, then it will
go through.

BTW both the OS and outlook are running SP3

And this happens EVERY time? Have you tried a new mail profile? Have you
tried deleting the account and readding it?
