1GB paired or 2 GB mismatched

don't look

I'm running W2k pro with an AMD 4000+,Nvidia Nfforce 4 Ultra motherboard and
1 GB pair PC3200 CAS2.5 DDR. I have 3 sticks of Buffalotech CAS 2.5,512MB
PC3200 Single sided DDR and 1 Double sided 512MB Buffalotech CAS 2.5 .
What's the best configuration for this ram?Right now I'm running 1GB matched
pair at 128 bit.
BTW,I just received a Vista Home Premium upgrade and haven't instaled it
yet.So,that's a consideration too.Thanks

To me that sounds best, just as-is.
Just my opinion, of course.

2GB, if they'll work together will always be better than 1GB matched.
Vista also really needs 2GB.

Actually, it needs 1.5GB, according to Vista. Not according to system
requirements, but according to WEI.

To the OP, I'd say do this:

3 sticks of Buffalotech CAS 2.5,512MB
PC3200 Single sided DDR

Vista will love it. -Dave

You can switch them and do an experiment, right? Of course you will
want a realistic test case, one that--like Vista--demands lots of
memory. Maybe wait until you install Vista, then try both memory
configs and see which works best for you?

Yeah, you're right.I'll try the 3 sticks first, run some tests and then 2
etc. I've already tried one double sided and one single sided and they boot
fine together.
