I have received a pop-up telling me that 180 Search
Assistant has been removed, and that this may cause some
programs not to run properly, or perhaps not at all. To
reinstall it, requires internet connectivity. Is this
legitimate, or is it a clever way to plant a virus in my
computer? Was it an original part of my Windows XP Home
Edition? Any help is gratefully appreciated.

Hi George~~~ I'm having the same problem as you, and
posted a question about it the other night...still no
answers. I'm trying to get hold of my son in Milwaukee
(puter tech)and see if he has any answers for me...if so,
I'll let you know

George......I checked with my son about this same problem
I was having on my computer. He said it was part of an ad-
ware/spyware program, and to remove it from my
puter....which I did. Seems to have done the trick.
