160 gig HD

I am running win xp with a new MB, CPU (AMD) and 160gig
hd. I can format up to 130gig?

No need, just install Service Pack 1. Read this for more info:

Mine needed to be partitioned. SP1 installed. BIOS has to support 48 bit LBA for it to work.

If your motherboard doesn't support 48bit LBA, you don't have XP SP1
installed, it probably won't see more than 130gig. My board does,
so if you get it to work, you should see similar.....my WD 160 gig
drive formats to 153gig
