1. this message continually appears on my screen, and
until I click "close," it will not allow the screen saver
to come on. I don't know why it's there or how to get rid
of it.
2. Anytime I have small font, such as any Help menu, it
is almost illegible. The appearance is as though little
pieces of the letters are actually missing, like in the
old days using a manual typewriter w/ an old, old ribbon.
What can I do about this?

I did look at the site you recommended. I can barely read
it bec the words on my screen are so poor in quality.
This recommends changing the Registry, which I know
nothing about and would not feel confident to do.
ALSO.... my original post had 2 problems; the 2nd problem
was about how illegible the printing is on my screen. My
e-mail is FINE; it's just via I'net when it's small font,
such as a Help menu or things like the web link you
suggested. It looks like typing w/ an OLD typewriter w/ a
defective ribbon.......Any suggestions for that?

If Internet Exporer is the only application that is showing the problem,
then repair the installation.
If other applications have the text problem as well, try adjusting the
Appearance settings in the desktop properties.
