16-bit grayscale video card and compatible display

Video card has approximately SXGA resolution. Display can be CRT or
LCD.

Is this hardware available? Any links or references are welcome.

Not sure if anything claiming that level of performance is
available, but best of luck finding either a CRT or LCD which
can actually provide 16-bit grayscale accuracy.
