1394 Net Adapter?

A

Aloke Prasad

I am using an Ethernet adapter integrated on my motherboard. It works.

I also have IEE1394 capability on my PC (via Audigy2 soundcard) but I have
nothing attached to these.

Why am I seeing a "1394 connection" using a "1394 Net Adapter" device in my
Network connections? Is that normal?

Thanks.

Yes it is normal.
XP sees the 1394 (firewire port) that is either integrated on
your motherboard or more likely in your case, on your
Audigy2 soundcard, as a possible network connection.
Really no need to worry about it, but you could disable
it in Device Manager if you want to. It will show up in
Device Manager under Network Adapters.
