120 gig HD Problem

R

Robert

I just added a 120gig HD & I used Norton ghost 2003 to clone my old HD & it
did it ok with no errors & after I booted up & ran defrag from Norton Speed
Disk & Defrag in windows I get bad block errors when I view my event viewer
& I tried another HD same thing so I know its not the HD. Is there a bug in
XP with large HD's? I also tried Powerquest Drive Image & was worse so went
back to Norton. I got no errors after defrag in windows or Norton only I see
it in my event viewer under Administrative Tools. I ran tests & did a chkdsk
/f no bad nothing on HD's so assuming Norton Ghost 2003 & Drive Image don't
do well?
any comments or suggestions?

Is the HDD formatted in FAT or NTFS?

There maybe a prob if its in FAT and NOT
NTFS. XP may not recognise all of it/most
of it.

While XP will not format/create a FAT32 partition larger then 32GB, it most
certainly can correctly recognize and use them
:)
