100% CPU busy after last auto Windows Update

I have not been able to use my computer since the
last automatic Windows Update: my Cpu runs at 100%.

using Task Manager I have been able to identify the
following culprit processes:

services.exe 50%
winexe.exe 19%
WinHelp.exe 19%
System 6%
lsass.exe 6%

it there a fix to this? alternatively is there a
way to back out the last Windows Update on w2k?

Thanks in advance

I've been having the same problem with the cpu running at 100% on some
processes after recent updates although I did manage to stay away from
SP4. I thought it was the Verizon dsl software I installed; I think
that may have also contributed.
