1 cpu on dual opteron mobo?

Can a computer run with a dual opteron mobo, and only 1 cpu on it? Or does
it actually need 2 cpu's to work?

If it does work, would that be with a 2xx cpu, or 1xx cpu? Or both?

I think you can use both, at least that is what the manual says - and that
is with any of them

1 of either version.

If you add a second, though, they both have to be 2xx or 8xx.

Hi, you can run cpu on dual opteron motherboard as long as its in cpu 1
position, thats connected to VGA display....its in the manual....
