it was running smooth until i installed alcohol120 yesterday,
upon completion of installation, blue scrn and 0x7e, system dumping
it happens the same in any safe mode, even after the windows logo appeared
and i didnt loggin (just hanging on the welcome page), the same stop message
appeared after say 10 seconds, it happens the same in ALL modes..
there is noway for me to disable or uninstall any software or drivers.

Thanks dzomlija, but the issue isn't solved...since:
I know there is usually a choice of "last known good configuration"
I say "usually" because it doesn't appear this time...not once ever
I wonder why it doesn't appear at all
there are only 4 choices: 3 safemodes and normal mode
and the problem just keep on in all modes
I guess the alcohol installation must have crushed with some of the core
driver, eg. bus driver, so does that mean I have to reinstall windows? I just
don't want to do that and that's why I am seeking help here.
Is there any other possible way to solve the issue?

What you could try is slave your hard disk onto another computer (XP or
Vista), and then manually (or rename) the alcohol 120% driver. I'm not
sure which file that is, and I can't check now for reasons that should
be clear in my signature.

Once you have done this, put your hard disk back in and see if you can
boot again.

went south thanks to mother nature and a lightning bolt to the mains
supply that my UPS could not stop. Now I'm just waiting for the
insurance payout, so I can build a new machine.-'

dzomlija,

I apologize for butting into this thread but I'm curious about
something. What brand and model of UPS are you using and why didn't it stop
the spike? Also, did you receive the spike through the data connection or
the power cord?
I use an APC Back-UPS RS 500. It gives me only about 20 minutes but
that's more than enough time for a file save and safe shutdown. I have no
real need to use my system for any length of time during to a power failure.
Do you think I have cause to be concerned?
