Hello,

I have just purchased a Gigabyte 8IGX MB with a 2gh
processor and 512MB RAM (PC2100). It was running great.
I bought a new case for it and installed the hardware into
the new case. I now get the above error and an error that
says
"File \ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded."
The error code is 7

I have flashed the BIOS, tried different hard drives, run
memory diagnostics. I reset the BIOS to the FAIL-SAFE
defaults and still get these errors. I double checked all
the jumper settings and even cleared the CMOS. I also
have disabled everything in the bios except the primary
IDE and the floppy drive and am still getting the above
errors.

Does anyone have a better explanation of exactly what
those errors mean? I'm using an old version of Windows
2000 SP1(In fact it's not even a bootable CD, I'm using
floppies), is this possibly something that I need a newer
version to fix? I have searched the microsoft knowledge
base and even googled a few of the errors. I checked on
the manufacturer's website and nothing there either.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Did you install Win2000 on this motherboard, or did you port
your hard disk from some other motherboard?

I hate it, too, when that happens! :]

Why do we always discover our dumb mistakes AFTER dropping our drawers in
front of the entire world?
