0 kb applications in Windows Folder

I have a big ole mess of applications/executable files in my c:\windows
folder with zero kb in file size. Examples d3yg32.exe, appyg.exe, addps.exe,
netud.exe....
When I right click to the properties tab and look at programs they are
listed as MSDOS. I believe these are remnants of some virus or adware
problems.
Can someone tell me where I can find out what these are and are they safe to
delete?
