Zooming:

If you store the images in the My Pictures folder, they'e automatically
displayed and you can use the picture and Fax viewer to rotate, zoom, and
perform basic tasks with image docs without opening the image or editing a
program.

Start> My Pictures/in My documents or wherever you have the images>Click the
image to open in Picture and Fax Viewer>and you'll see a zoom button and
several others below.

This is discussed in detail in Help and Support for XP which most people
rarely touch--it's probably one of the most under used features for its
value. It also links to relavant articles and KB's. Also see the MS XP web
site which has a number of tip articles and mini-tutorials. These might
help:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/digitalphotography/learnmore/takeit/composition.asp
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/digitalphotography/getstarted/organize/filesintopc.asp

Also if you have Microsoft Office 2003 Beta 2 Refresh/XP/2000/97 and you
add Microsoft Office Tools>Microsoft Photo Editor which can be very useful
since Office 97:
http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Delphi/6470/photoed.htm

You can add two ways--by going to Add/Remove and Adding or you can pop in
the Office CD and add it from MS Office Tools in setup.

An excellent free photo editor is Irfanview:
http://www.irfanview.com/ and I prefer Adobe Elements 2 to any edition of MS
Picture IT--more and better features if you want 3rd party.
