I was having a problem with my pictures file. I had a
hundred or more copies of each. Anyway I finally got rid
of all the copies and now my pictures from my digital
camera that were on zoombrowzer ex are gone. Is this for
real? I didn't delete them from there. HELP!!!!!

Take a deep breath and don't empty the recycle bin whatever you do.

Canon's Zoombrowser version 4 automatically maps paths to all folders on
your computer (version 3 requires the user
to specify which folders contain picture files).

First, look in the folder(s) where you store your pictures ... perhaps 'My
Pictures'. If there, Zoombrowser probably just lost track.

Second, check the Recycle bin for your pictures (Zoombrowser won't look
there). If there, select the real picture files (ignoring any with 'Copy of
....' in the filename) and restore to put them
back in the right places.

Others can help with the specifics of how so many copies might have been
created.

I had already emptied the recycle bin before I realized
that my pics were in there. I don't understand how they
were deleted from zoombrowzer in the first place as I was
working in my pictures. Are they really gone now?
Thanx; Claudette

Your pictures may be gone, however there may be a utilitity (with which I am
not familiar) to recover
those files. I'm quite sure I saw a post here about that so perhaps someone
else will help.

When you delete a file (assuming you don't have some fancy software that
wipes your disk clean) the file is not physically
removed, only the 'pointer' to it. It then goes back into a 'pool' of free
space that can be used for new files. The fewer files
you create until you find out how to resurrect your photos, the greater will
be the likelihood that your precious pictures will
be overwritten.
