zoom judders

When I've followed a photo with a copy, in order to start a zoom after say
three or four seconds of still frame, the zoom movement (on the identical
copy) often begins with a small but noticeable judder, or maybe a slight
blurring of picture. Is there anything I can do to eliminate or minimise
this?

Photo Story 3. I'm very familiar with it and find it suits most of my needs,
but the zoom (and to a lesser degree the pan) options at its effects stage
could be a trifle smoother. Any ideas? I'm not sure I would want to change
programme. I'm trying out Adobe Premiere Elements which may give one more
control, but at the cost of learning time and using time, I think APE is
geared to video rather than sequences of stills.

PapaJohn, PapaJohn.
Hope you get to read this reply to my post re. zoom juddering and the
answers I got.
I found your reply to an earlier posting where you suggested disabling the
default transition. THANKS A MILLION! THAT WAS IT! Now I am decided - for
the particular work I'm doing PS3 is THE programme!
Thanks again. (But I hope PS3 will one day get round to incorporating these
invaluable tips into some "Advanced" editing notes!)

P.S. I see now that you advised this in a reply to this current posting.!
Missed it!
