Zoo Tycoon2 - Darn Elevated Paths and Ramps

I'm not a dummy, but this feature is the most difficult I've ever been faced
with. I've tried and tried and CANNOT make an elevated path/ramp. Well, the
elevated path is easy enough, but when I try to add the ramp at the bottom of
the path, they never match up. This is driving me nuts? Can anyone help????
I've read the user booklet, but I'm looking for more detail instructions....
