zip or compress?

my daughter is logged as a user on the PC. She had an MP3 player for Xmas and
has started putting her CD collection onto Windows Media Player to download
to her MP3.
This is taking up a hell of a lot of hard-drive (i only have 30GB split into
2 equal partitions). My C partition is nearly full. Do I increase the size of
C using partition magic (or something similar),zip the music files or
compress the music files /hard-drive.

Your help would be appreciated

Thankyou

The MP3's are already compressed. You *never* want to compress a hard
drive. The best solution is to buy another hard drive for music -
either internal or external, whichever suits you best.
