Zip file display

J

JDR

When I select a folder in the left pane of Windows Explorer that contains
numerous .zip files I notice that Windows Explorer refresh rate is very
slow.

It appears that Windows Explorer is creating an index of the zip file
contents because when I click on the .zip file in the left pane it displays
the folder and files in the right pane.

Is there a way to turn this off in order to speed up the refresh rate in
Windows Explorer?

Thanks

Jeff,

See if turning off the Windows XP Zip integration helps. Type regsvr32 /u
zipfldr.dll

You may use a third-party program like WinZip to handle compressed files.
