Sorry to take your time, but the append approach leaves me even more
confused.
Perhaps a more clear definition of what I need to do would help:
Multiple Excel files (10+), each of which has a single row of about 50
element names, to be Imported into separate Access tables.
Want to create a new table for each incoming file using the New/Import
function so the element names are the 'Headers' in Access.
Set default for all elements so that Zero Length = Yes
Import data into each table, even when some of the incoming fields are
empty.
Again, really do appreciate your help.
