Your current security settings...

....prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page.

The .cab file in question is on my intranet and is used
for Web based timesheets. I only have problems on XP
systems that have been fully security patched *before* the
page is first accessed.

I have searched KB articles, Google etc for an answer.

I have set security as low as it can go for my intranet
zone.

Can anyone please tell me how to get these controls
downloaded?

Many thanks,

there's something in your security setting not quite
right, check in internet options. active X can be
disabled, but don't recommend it. also you can make that
site a trusted one in security.

Thanks HH,

I have tried making the intranet root 'trusted' and have
of course enabled all ActiveX controls.

When running the ActiveX diagnosis tool the error
returned is a generic trust error which has led me to
thinking that it may be something set in a GPO. I am
currently going through these with a fine tooth comb.

Another possible cause might be cross domain trust
relationships. My Intranet is on a different (NT) domain
to my client machines (W2K). I have a fully functioning
trust relationship set up between the domains but suspect
that recent ie6 security tightening may be preventing the
controls downloading from one to the other.

I have to say this is driving me nuts.

Well,

Dropping the machine from the domain hasn't done it...not
group policy then. Currently running system restore back
to factory settings out of desperation.

I just can't wait for xp sp2 and all the fun in store
then...
