We just started receiving this message when trying to open an Access db
(v2003). Even local and domain administrators are unable to open it. We
searched the forum but could not find a related article. Thanks for your
help.

I assume you have sufficient rights on the directory. Are you sure they
haven't been reset? Also under Vista you might encounter the UAC option which
will bug you as well.

I am a system administrator and this error just started happening this week,
rights have not been reset.

The exact message and error code is: "You do not have the necessary
permissions to use the <name> object. Have your system administrator or the
person who created this object establish the appropriate permissions for you.
(Error 3033)"

We're running Access 2003 on Win XP Pro.
