You do not have sufficient privileges for accessing connection properties.

I have Windows XP Pro with SP2 installed on an AD domain. When I am logged
in as the local Administrator, or as a Domain Administrator I cannot access
my network settings.

When I go to Control Panel|Network Connections, and right click on
Properties, I get

---------------------------
Network Connections
---------------------------
You do not have sufficient privileges for accessing connection properties.
Contact your administrator.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Under Group Policy on this computer, non of the entries under "Network
Connections" are defined. Disabling "Prohibit access to properties of a LAN
connection" does not help.

Other users can access the connection properties on their computers, and so
can I, so I don't think it's a domain policy issue.

How do I correct this?

Thanks!

I have the same problem, but I have no domain. I have upgraded 2 computers
and have the same problem on both. I am the administrator, but even when I
log in with the built in Administrator account, I still cannot access the
network properties. Nor can I run the "New Connection Wizard"
successfully - after choosing "set up a home or small office network", I get
the dialog that says "Cannot Complete the Network Setup Wizard" with the
text "Your user account does not have adequate permissions to set up a home
or small office network. To set up a network, you must have permission to
configure Internet Connection sharing, Windows Firewall, and network
bridging."

I simply upgraded to SP2 on both machines from SP1, and now seem to have
lost privileges from both my own account as well as the never-used
Adminstrator account on both machines.
