I'm hoping a knowledgeable one of you can help me please. After moving into a new flat the CD key label on my computers chassis has been torn off. To add to my dilemma I had just changed the password and now I can't remember it!! I searched on internet and found a way around the problem using a linux boot CD CD080802. Unfortunately now my machine won't boot past the Welcome to Windows, press CTRL-ALT-DEL. I have tried safe mode, last known good config etc but to no avail. I have 90% of the key. I understand it is in the registry which is a file in C:\Windows\system32\config\ folder but don't know the layout or how to get the key and decrypt it from the correct file. Can anyone please help me. I really can't afford to buy another key being a pensioner.
