Yet another address book/contacts issue: Outlook 2000

S

Stacy Williams

I know variations on this question have been answered
three times in the past two days, but I have a slightly
different twist.

I'm using Outlook 2000 SP-3 (9.0.0.6627). I recently
switched over to a new computer. I successfully copied
over my .pst file and can see all my contacts in the
contacts list. They even show up in my email address
book. But apparently my email address book is pulling
from an earlier version of the .pst file, because all the
changes and additions I've made to my contacts (since
switching computers) are not showing up in the address
book.

I've looked at your answers for the other questions
similar to this one, but since those were all for Outlook
2002, I can't figure out how to make them work. Please
give very simple, step-by-step instructions (I am no pro
at this). THANK YOU!

Define how you "copied over" your PST file.
State your mail support mode. (Line 2 of help | About if you don't know).

I have an online backup service. I backed up the PST
file from the old computer, and then downloaded it into
the new computer.

Mail support code is "Internet Mail Only - Security
Update". Hope that's what you needed.

I don't know if you can email me directly (as well as
posting a reply) or not -- it took me forever to find my
original message and your post.

Thank you!
Stacy

After you downloaded the PST, how did you then configure Outlook to use it?

Um, I'm afraid I don't remember. Sorry -- it's been a
couple of months. I've just been living with this
issue. Maybe you could give me step-by-step instructions
from scratch? Thank you!
