yet another activation question

i have 2 computers 2 virtual machines vmware and virtual pc i frequently
change the seetings on the vm's can i still reactivate but im afraid it will
count the diffrent setings as diffent pc's ( i have 4 actual computers only
2 work ) and while im at it is it legal to run multiple copies of xp in
virtual machine on the same computer that has the same lisence as the
virtual machines? or would that be piracy (well it is all runing on the same
processor ram harddrive everything)
