Yes/No field

I want to keep track of those people who have paid for the bus trip. whats
the best way to do that? If I create a yes/no field, the little squares don't
appear in the column unless I click in the cell, and once I click it, I
cannot remove the little square. A minor thing but you would think that when
you create a yes/no field, the squares would populate the entire column. I
just thought maybe I was missing something. Thanks much

You could create a text field for that purpose, and group by that field.
When someone pays, drag their entry from the "No" group to the "Yes" group.
