yellow text in outlook

When replying to email messages in Outlook, the original text changes to
yellow in my reply. This does not happen all the time, it appears to be
totally random. The same thing happens sometimes when I'm forwarding a
message. I have no rules in place, and I've checked the format for all my
fonts, and it's set properly, not to yellow anywhere. Does anyone have a
solution for this? Thanks in advance.

Version of Outlook?
Type of account?
Word or Outlook as the e-mail editor?

Sorry, I forgot to include that in my original post. It's Outlook 2003 on an
Exchange Server, using Word as the email editor.

Just moving it up in the forum so it doesn't get lost. Does anyone have any
possible solutions?

Do you have the same results with Outlook set as the e-mail editor?
What message format are these messages in?

Yes, same thing happens with Outlook at the editor. It's always random, you
never know when it will happen. All messages are in HTML format, but I've
tried changing to rich text format. It still happens. I ran out of ideas of
what to try.

i dont know if this helps, but my girlfriends OUTLOOK on her laptop was
doing the same thing. but it was her signature that was in yellow text
on all her replies. originally it was HTML, so we first changed it to
RICH text, nothing happens. next changed it to PLAIN text, and still
nothing happened. we changed it back to HTML, her signature is now set
to black and displaying fine.

crazy theory is that she had some computer settings for her computer
and OUTLOOK didnt recieve that information. so reloading the HTML
setting configured it to the correct setting.

it was wierd, but it worked for her.

I've already tried changing it from HTML to rich text back to HTML, it's
still happening. Her signature as well as the reply turns yellow (it's not
me having the problem, it's one of my users). I read somewhere that if you
go into the Mail Format under Tools, Options, and specify black (even if it
is already set to black) that sometimes works. So, that's my next trial when
she returns from vacation next week.

Change your font settings in Outlook

Go into Tools, Options, Mail Format, Stationery and Font. Select Always use my font under theme, and then you can change the next to for your reply color, usually it's a shade of blue, and make sure that your compose and read plain text is set to black as well.
