Hi.
I'm having a hard time re-installing WinXP drivers for Yamaha DS-XG
sound card. Installation goes fine until I'm prompted to reboot the
OS. Once the XP has rebooted it detects new multimedia device and
offers it Yamaha WDM Audio Codec driver, the right one. But right
after this XP reverts to Yamaha DSx1 Native Audio driver, default
driver that comes with XP. This driver doesn't support the features of
XG chipset and the MIDI quality is absolutely unacceptable.
So is there a way to force install the right drivers into Windows XP?
And why is XP doing this, as I once managed to install drivers
properly?
ps. Drivers were downloaded from Yamaha's site.
Thanks in advance.
