Yahoo Messenger Starts At Login

On one of my user accounts after logging into Windows XP, Yahoo messenger
automatically starts and requests for username & password. It is only doing
this on one particualar login to Windows. I want to keep Yahoo Messenger but
DO NOT want it to automatically start itself. How do I do this?

Open Yahoo Messenger (you can right lcik on the icon to open it) - choose
File - Preferences - General - remove the check on Automatically start.

You should uninstall Yahoo Messenger and MSN Messenger and instead download
a free open-source messenger program called Gaim. With Gaim you can log
into all of your different IM accounts at the same time, and there is no
spyware or annoying attempts to force itself upon you. It works will MSN
Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, ICQ, and AOL instant messenger, all at the same
time. The source code is available for viewing so you can know what you are
getting. It works great. The program never imposes itself on you like
Yahoo, MSN, and AOL do.

Information here: http://gaim.sourceforge.net/about.php
Download here: http://gaim.sourceforge.net/downloads.php
(be sure to choose the version for Windows. The filename will probably be
something like gaim-1.0.2.exe)

also if rons suggestion didn't work.. go to start>run and type msconfig at
that point go to start up and you can select which programs you want to start
when your computer starts and which ones you dont want to start.. good luck
