yahoo is very slow...............

I have cable modem connection but still any website related to Yahoo! is
extremely slow (almost a minute) to load the webpage. I think there is some
problem in my PC since this happens irrespective of the internet connection
I have - cable modem or dial-up.

Details are:
1. Yahoo! mail, My Yahoo, Yahoo finance (anything that has my personal
settings) loads slow.
2. www.yahoo.com is fast.
3. Mapquest is also slow (someone told me it is a yahoo-related website
now).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

.You might want to try defragmenting your hard drive, if

you haven't tried that. You'll have to shut down your anti-
virus program(s).

The first thing to do is to scan your system for the possibility of
unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that may be causing your problem(s).
