XP's firewall

[Unprotected]

XP's firewall keeps unchecking itself,I check apply and
it stays on,sometimes for 2 days,but always seems to shut
itself off.It's a Dell,w/home,McAfee AV had the
firewall from them but it expired,and I figured I didn't
need one ,Because XP has one built-in.What keeps turning
it off,Do I have ghosts,or is my computer already hacked?

Perhaps the "expired" only means that you are no longer
eligible for updates, but the firewall remains in place
without being updated. You might consider removing the
McAfee firewall (this might prove to be a task that
requires a tool from McAfee) and again trying activating
the Microsoft firewall. As an alternative, I recommend
