I installed XP64 on my D drive with XPPro on the C drive. I want to delete
XP64 from the D drive and get rid of the OS boot menu. If I simply reformat
the D drive will the boot menu be automatically removed?

Maybe maybe not... but here is the way to stop it if it doesnt work....

open "My Computer"
then open ur "C" Drive
goto "Tools" and click "Folder Options"
Click on the "View" tab then scrool down till you see "Hide protected
operating system files (Recommended)" unselect that box you will get another
window pop up to okay it click "Yes."
then click "Apply" and "OK"
you then see a lot of hidden files in the "C" drive.
Open "Boot.ini"
when open you should a extra line under the [operating systems] but heres
what it should look like so you dont have to have the menu anymore:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

Hope this is easy for you to follow
