XP wont recognise ATI Radeon 9600SE

Help, I cant get this card to work. I keep getting a
blank screen while the system loads up after the Windows
Splash Screen.

My system is far above the minimum requirements to use
this card (I am replacing my ATI 7500 card) and I have
tried every driver update for my mother board and all of
that already.

I am also having troubles getting into safe mode so I can
not use that route right now either.

First download the newest catalyst for xp,i think its 10.0
Then open system properties (R.click my computer-properties),hardware,
device mgr,R.click the display adapter,select-uninstall,close out restart computer,
uninstall any software if such is in add/remove too.Back on desktop,open the ATI
catalyst. One other critical note,if you have any auto run pop-ups that start immed.
as xp starts such as mcafee,youll have to disable it,run,type:Msconfig start tab,
unselect them before you uninstall, in device mgr.ATI runs a quick test the first time
xp opens,the pop-up disables it.The 9600,if other software goes along with the catalyst,
open all at the same time,dont restart untill all has installed,then restart....
