XP will not load

I first had Windows 2000, loaded XP last year, all was
well. Yesterday, because of my ignorance, reloaded
Windows 2000 without first removing XP. Long story short,
I attempted to format, could not because the Volume was
already being used by another source. I then del all the
Windows\System32 files, and have made the whole thing
worse. I NEED HELP. If someone can show me how to
format the hard drive and remove the "Volume" problem, I
can take it from there. Thanks,

In your case? Boot from the CD you want to install with (2000/XP) and start
the install, when it asks you which partition you want to use, delete the
partitions, create a new one, continue.

Shenan, based on your suggestion, the PC is reformatting
the hard drive (partition) as we speak. If this works, I
we you a beer!

I hope it works - I could use a beer right now.
