XP Will not boot

I am running XP home edition, my daughetr was playing Sims when the system
crashed. When i re-boot the screen goes black screen
the message say
"Disk Boot Failure"
"Insert ATAPI CD Rom"

Any advice would be appreciated.

You may be able to repair it using the Recovery Console. If you haven't
installed this on the system it can be accessed from the Windows XP CD. To boot
from the CD you'll have to change the boot sequence in the BIOS so that the
CD-ROM boots before the HDD.

After entering the RC, enter these commands:

fixboot

and then:

fixmbr

I'm just guessing, but try to make sure that when you're booting remove any
CDs and floppies from your PC.

Remove any CD's or floppies and if you still get the disk boot failure
message, press F8 to access safe mode and from the menu select last know
good.
You may need to do a Repair Install.
Read all the options in the article before attempting the Repair Install.
