XP vs 2003

Are both versions essentially the same (for single user home use - primarily
email & scheduler)?

Well it's still Outlook and an e-mail client ;-)

Outlook 2003 has some great new features to offer to home users as well. The
new Navigation Pane, a Junk E-mail Filter and Search Folders belong to my
favorite new features. Note that you can always use a demo to found out
whether or not you like it.
