XP virtual memory error/ paging file issue

I'm getting a "Your system is low on virtual memory.
Windows is increasing the size of your virtual memory
paging file. During this process, memory requests for
some applications may be denied" error...among other
paging file errors. MSFT support says its due to
Aventail Connect but I don't have this on my PC.
Can't restore the system (get error), can't enter safe
mode (freezes at one point everytime), reinstalled XP a
few times and repaired but the PC eventually gets slower
and slower until it freezes up. Can't even run a free
online scan from the housecall website anymore for some
reason. Any ideas on what hapened or what I should do?
Was going to reinstall completely but it said not to put
2 OS's on the same partition.
Clueless...

Did you reinstall XP without first UNinstalling the Intel Application
Accelerator? It is useful with some Intel chipsets, and if it's installed
it will be shown in the Control Panel|ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS list.

UNinstall it. Reboot.

Then visit these sites and read the info, to see if the latest version of
I.A.A. is recommended for your chipset. If yes, install it.

That definitely helped some! Paging file issue is gone
and the system starts up pretty quickly.
Thanks bro! You saved my computer from getting thrown
into the bathtub...literally, the water was running. No
patience over here.
Thanks again!

Look at the Problems section at www.aumha.org/win5/a/xpvm.htm to see if
anything is relevant.

I have also heard it said that a similar effect, at boot time, results
from installing NAV 2004
