XP user setting

Hi,

My office has a NT4.0 server with 12 XP Professional computer and 10 Windows
95.

In the XP Professional computer, I just added the domain user and
administrator of NT server. The Domain user is restricted as Standard level.

Firstly, I have already deleted the administrator of computer(Local), is it
OK ?

Secondly, the users complained that they cannot install some program in the
XPP computer such as Adobe Reader or WINAMP. How to handle their issue ??

Thank
Jimmy

You should not delete the local Administrator account - just change the
password to something not known by the user of the PC.
The ability for a regular user to install software is restricted.
Certain products can only be installed by users account running at higher
levels of privileges (such as Power Users or Administrators) You may wish
to contact the vendor of the product to see what measures they recommend for
deployment of there software in a properly restricted environment.

There are other approaches such as using a deployment solution or moving to
products such as Windows Server 2003 that provide alternative deployment
techniques.
