xp upgrade

I installed xp as an upgrade to 2000. When it finished it
did not recognize my D: drive. I have my hard drive
partitioned off into two drives. Drive C: is labeled as
healthy drive, Drive D: is labeled as (unknown partition)
What do I have to do to make it accept my D: drive

Hi, MWR.

Are you looking in Disk Management? (Type diskmgmt.msc at the Run prompt.)
Or in Device Manager or My Computer or some other screen?

What else does Disk Management tell you about your drives? Maybe the volume
letters got shuffled during the upgrade. What used to be D: may now be E:,
with a CD drive becoming D:. We can only guess because we can't see your
computer or your screen. You'll have to tell us what steps you take and
what you see.

You can configure the DM screen to suit yourself by clicking View. I prefer
to show the Volume List at the top with the Graphical View below. Then I
can see which is Disk 0, which is the System Partition, the Boot Volume,
etc. I can see if the sizes match what they should be showing. Is your
Drive C: now bigger than it used to be? I hope you didn't tell WinXP Setup
to repartition and/or reformat your drive during the installation unless you
have backups. If you can tell us more about what you see, we probably can
help you.
