XP Upgrade & Hardware Compatability

I have a 5 year old IBM Aptiva and just upgraded from windows 98. Was using an Nvidia 420 graphics card & now with XP there's a compatability issue! What's the deal? I originally had onboard Video (Which I disabled every way I could ) with no success!

Get a BIOS upgrade.
