XP to Vista printer sharing

Ok, I have a home network set up with three computers as follows:

The main computer (win XP) - connects directly to the internet and the
printer is directly connected to it.

The second computer (win XP) - connects to the internet through the main
computer, through a router, and shares the main computers printer just fine.

The third computer (win VISTA) - connects to the internet through the main
computer also But it is not able to use the shared printer. When I go to
control panel> printers>add printer>add network printer it searches for the
printer but finds nothing!

Why will it not find the printer?

Extra Details:
.. All sharing is turned on on all computers
.. Using broadband internet
.. Using a HP printer, the vista's website tells me the driver for this
printer is pre-installed on vista
.. It is not protected by any passwords

Can you ping the remote computer by name? if not, have you enabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP? Or try this link,

Vista Print IssuesVista: printer causes explorer to crash ... I have connected to the printer the following way from a Vista Ultimate > machine: > > Add printer . ...

Try and connect the printer through USB. Sometimes it doesn't connect when the printer is pre-installed & on network.

I already tried connecting through TCP/IP and direct connecting by printers
name, neither work.

And plug the USB into which computer exactly?

The Vista computer.

Then plug it back into the main PC.

I'm not entirely sure how to do this on vista, but I think, in the search
box, type \\COMPUTER-NAME\PRINTER-NAME where computername is the computer's
name and printername is the printers SHARED name.

If that doesn't work, go into network, and navigate into the main PC.

If that doesn't work, check your firewall. Disable it while you sort it out.
Then enable it again. Let me know if it finds it (Through Add Printer
Wizard)

Let me know what happens
