Im sure this has been brought up 100's of times but I cannot find anything
matching my problem. I can see my XP Drives from Vista, and I can even see
my Vista Drive from XP but when I try to network it (goes slow) it takes but
when I try to access my Drive from XP via network It "Not accessible" Access
is denied. Anyone have any ideas?

I would check the permission first. or create the same username in both computers. This link may help.

I have the same problem.
Connection between 2 PC with WinXP und 1 with Vista has been perfect.
Now the connection from PC with Vista to the others is ok, but no connection
from WinXP to Vista is possible. All rights are given as before, no changes
in Vista.
Connection from WinXP to WinXP is normal.

No ping from WinXP to Vista, but positive ping from Vista to WinXP. Sharing
is enabled.

Sorry, the reason for the trouble was the firewall of the new bitdefender,
not Vista.

Hi,

I'm no doubt in the wrong place, but I'm at my wits end. I have a long
established Workgroup network. I have four systems connected to the network
at this time. Win98, 2000, and XP Pro all play nicely together. I just
purchased a new system with Vista Business (4th). I can't network the damn
thing to save my life.

2000 and XP Pro can both see the Vista machine, but not connect (98 is off).
Neither can ping Vista. The Vista machine can't see anything (it could see
the router for a time, but no longer can), however it can ping the other
systems. I've added users to Vista, created shared folders. Turned the
firewall off. Vista has sucessfully secured the system from it user.

For what its worth the network has no access to the internet, by design.

No, I don't think I am you are in the wrong place. I have the same sort of
problem, see my post "XP can see Vista but not vise-versa". I got a reply
directing me to
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-au/library/bb727037.aspx
I have not gone through it yet so I can't vouch for it as the solution, but it
may help. Please post if you do solve this problem, I am at my wit's end as
well, & Dell wanted me to pay about $150 to walk me through a fix on the phone,
which sure takes a lot of gall on their part, since I just bought the thing,
I've had it all of one day, and the ability to network is now generally accepted
as a basic computer function. I stayed on the phone for 5 hours while their tech
destroyed the wireless access to the Internet, transferred me to someone who
tried to extort the $150 as I mentioned, then back to someone else who managed
to get it all back to square one, 5 f*&%!#! hours just to go in a big circle.
Cheers,
-plh
